Speaking and Listening Test for UK Citizenship

Everyone desires to live a better life and with this positive thought, they apply for a UK visa because this is the place where they can make their desire come true. But from past year 2013, the government officials have changed some of the rules for all the applicants that are living with a dream to come to UK and do different things like someone wants to earn a degree in one of the best universities of UK then other people wants to come here and get a respected job. But from now on, everyone has to meet the set guideline that is ‘Speaking and listening test for UK citizenship’.
The reason for changing the rules for applicants is just that if one could not communicate effectively then he may not achieve the desired position in the community and may find that coming UK was a wrong choice.
What is Speaking and Listening Test for UK Citizenship?
The said test is just a guideline to make sure that all those applicants who have been approved from visa officials, are well aware of the language spoken in UK that is English.
Merit Passing the Speaking and Listening Test:
If a person has not taken speaking and listening test for UK citizenship then it is essential for him or her to take it immediately before applying for the visa. The applicant should pass the test with B1 or higher score set by CEFR that stands for Common European Framework of Reference. Or, he/she may have an equivalent level of education in place of the test.
Countries Those Are Free From Speaking And Listening Test Conditions:
However the condition, Speaking and listening test for UK citizenship, is not essential for some applicants that belongs to a country where English is the official language. But rest of the applicants are liable to pass the test in order to enter in UK and live like a normal citizen there.
The countries that are exempted from the said test are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and USA.
Applicants That Are Free From Speaking and Listening Test:
The Government of UK has set the said test conditions for all most all applicants who want to come to UK and settle here for as long as they want to live here. But there are some group of people who are not asked to pass the test if they are falling in the categories described below:
·         If the applicant is younger than 18 years of age or older than 65 years of age then he/she may not need to take the test
·         If the applicant is having an issue learning English language then he may skip the test but the problem should be valid otherwise he/she must take the test
·         If the applicant is spouse (either husband or wife or civil partners) of a UK resident who has been victimized with domestic violence or has been died may skip the test
·         Those applicants who are under humanitarian protection act or are refugees in UK may also skip the test if they want to

·         Those applicants who are also asylum seekers and have a DL (Discretionary Leave) to remain in the country may also skip the speaking and listening test for UK citizenship
